Umrah Visa Requirements

Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, performed by Muslims that can be undertaken at any time of the year. While the basic steps for Umrah remain the same, visa requirements and regulations may change, and it’s essential to check the most up-to-date information from official sources. As of my last knowledge update in January 2023, here are general guidelines for Umrah visa requirements:

1. Valid Passport:
Your passport should be valid for at least six months from the date of applying for the Umrah visa.

2. Umrah Visa Application:
Submit a completed Umrah visa application form. This is typically available through the official website or authorized travel agencies.

3. Travel Itinerary:
Provide a confirmed round-trip airline ticket with confirmed reservations.

4. Proof of Accommodation:
Provide proof of hotel reservations for your stay in Mecca and Medina.

5. Health Requirements:
Some countries may require proof of vaccination or a health certificate. Check with the relevant authorities for the latest health requirements.

6. No Objection Certificate (NOC):
In some cases, you may need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer if you are employed.

7. Women and Children:
Women and children can perform Umrah, but there are specific requirements for women under a certain age traveling without a mahram (a male relative, such as a husband or father). It’s essential to check the latest regulations regarding this.

8. Biometric Verification:
Some countries may require biometric verification as part of the visa application process.

9. Travel Agency:
Umrah visas are usually issued through approved travel agencies. You may need to book your Umrah package through one of these agencies.

It’s crucial to note that these requirements can vary, and the Saudi government may update them periodically. Therefore, it is highly recommended to check with the official Saudi authorities or the Saudi embassy/consulate in your country for the most current and accurate information before making any travel arrangements.

Keep in mind that my information is based on the situation as of January 2023, and there may have been changes since then. Always refer to the latest guidelines from official sources for the most accurate and current information.
